CONSECUTIVE INTERPRETING

In a nutshell, the speaker pauses and the interpreter interprets what has been said. Although consecutive interpretation is ideal for smaller meetings, some clients occasionally require consecutive interpretation of lectures and workshops.

SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETING

Conference interpreting. Interpreters speak at the same time as the speaker. This is suitable for international conferences, workshops, training sessions and lectures. Typically, simultaneous interpreters work in soundproof booths.

Whispered interpreting (chuchotage). In whispered interpreting (chuchotage, in French), the interpreter sits or stands next to the small target-language audience whilst whispering a simultaneous interpretation of the matter to hand. This method requires no equipment. Chuchotage is used in circumstances where the majority of a group speaks the source language, and a minority (ideally no more than three people) do not speak it.

RATES Consecutive interpreting 1 day (4 to 8 hours) - 200 EUR/5100 Kc 1/2 day (up to 4 hours) - 110 EUR/2800 Kc Simultaneous interpreting: 1 day (4 to 8 hours) - 250 EUR/6300 Kc 1/2 day (up to 4 hours) - 130 EUR/3300 Kc Extra charges: Overtime (for each commenced hour) +10% of the basic rate. WE RECOMMEND - Many people have only a vague, and often incorrect, idea what the interpreting is all about. Close cooperation between organizer, collocutor and interpreter is very important.
